Using Publisher Apps in Canvas

Please note: These instructions are provided by the publisher, more up-to-date information may be located on each individual publishers website or account representative.

The following publisher products are integrated into Canvas, meaning NCTC faculty that use any of these products need to also use the associated App in their Canvas course:

Learn how to add any of the above Apps to your course in Canvas. Each App is already configured at the institutional level, so there is no need to configure via Settings in your course. Simply add the App to your course as an External Tool within Modules. Also please note that once the App is added in your course, there may be additional setup on the publisher side that will need to be completed via the Canvas App for the two systems to sync. 

Students should access these products via Canvas exclusively. Accessing via Canvas exclusively is optimal for students and faculty, as these publisher products are Single Sign-On (SSO) capable. SSO allows users to login to Canvas then click on the publisher link in their course and automatically log into the publisher site. 

In addition to the above integrations, the following publishers also offer course cartridges in the Canvas format:

•        Elsevier B.V.
•        Jones & Bartlett Learning
•        WW Norton & Company 

Course cartridges install in Canvas differently than the above Apps. Nevertheless, they are another method for installing content from these publishers. Submit a request if you need assistance installing a course cartridge in Canvas. If you need publisher content converted to the Canvas format, contact your publisher representative.
