Turnitin is the plagiarism detection service used in Canvas at NCTC to check submitted assignments for original content. The paper will be checked against existing material from several online sources. Turnitin will return a "percentage of plagiarism" based on how closely your content matches the existing content.
You will submit your paper just like you would any other online submission. The difference occurs once the paper is submitted and a plagiarism report is generated. View the following link for details on how to submit your assignment.
Submitting a Turnitin Assignment
When you are ready to submit an assignment that requires Turnitin plagiarism detection, you will need to go to the assignment page and click on the Submit Assignment button.
Across the top of the window, you may have multiple options. These options will depend on what file formats your instructor requests or allows. Click on the tab of the file type you wish to submit and then select the file you wish to upload or attach and click the Submit Assignment button.
Note: Remember to click the Submit Assignment button at bottom of box once you are ready to upload or attach your file. Submission is not complete until you do.
