There is a great Calendar feature that does not get talked about enough and it is the Scheduler. The Scheduler allows the faculty to set up blocks of time for scheduling appointments for students to select the time for their meeting with the faculty.
The scheduler creates a block of appointments that the faculty could use for office hours on a weekly basis for face-2-face courses or in conjunction with the conference tool, the Big Blue Button, for online courses. The scheduler could also be used for scheduling student conferences during class time to have progress reports with the student. Another use for the scheduler is for students to submit topics for a speech or essay assignment.
A new feature for the scheduler is an area in the scheduler where the student can leave a note for the faculty. A great feature to help the faculty prepare for the students appointment.
The various options for the scheduler allow you to limit times, occurrences, and whether the appointments are public or private.
